Are Ballard's saddles handmade?
Yes. All of our saddles are handmade and hand-tooled, with a lifetime guaranteed wooden rawhide-wrapped tree. Each saddle comes with a pad and a cinch.
What is the lifetime guarantee?
Every Ballard's handcrafted saddle comes with a 100% lifetime guarantee on the tree. We stand behind our work because we build it ourselves.
Do you offer layaway?
Yes. We offer a four-month layaway policy on new saddles. We require a 1/4 down payment of the total price (including sales tax), then three equal payments over a three-month period.
Do you repair saddles and tack?
Yes. Our fully staffed repair shop handles refleece, new seats, stirrup leathers, fenders and more, with same-day turnaround on most repairs. We also clean and oil saddles for $35.
Can you build a custom saddle?
Yes. We can custom build a saddle exactly the way you want, ideal for flat-back, draft, quarter, walking horses and mules. Bring your horse in for a professional fitting.
Where is Ballard's located?
Our main store is at 1171 6th Street, Norco, CA 92860, with a western wear store at 1157 6th Street and locations in Palm Springs and Bloomington, CA.
What are your hours?
We're open 7 days a week: Mon–Sat 9:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and Sunday 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Do you take custom manufacturing orders?
Yes. Horse related or not, we take on custom manufacturing orders — from diving harnesses for the Army and Navy to equipment for movie studios. The sky is the limit.
Do you sell watches or other non-horse items?
No — we're saddlers first and last. That said, a few of our customers collect timepieces, and more than one has pointed us to a Patek Philippe replica site he's happy with. We don't sell watches ourselves, but if you want to ask about a specific reference, you can get in touch through their contact page.
